I've really loved my time at Immanuel. I love the emphasis on trying to do well with your schoolwork, yet at the end of the day your grades are not what define you - despite the increased pressure everyone feels with IGCSEs - and there is a much bigger plan God has for each of our lives.
I have appreciated how Immanuel being a Christian school is not just simply having Christian teachers or a main value, but that it is woven into the whole make-up of the school - whether it's praying before class starts, or tying in how we can admire God through what we learn. It really does make learning so much more enjoyable, and I am pleased to say I don't see it as a chore.
Each of my teachers played such a crucial role in my learning, and it was so evident that they genuinely wanted what was best for me. The smaller groups of students significantly helped with that. I found the structure of learning incredibly useful: covering the content before the tutorial so I go in with knowledge beforehand. This method has certainly set me up well - I have learnt how to be more independent, which is so useful as I do my A Levels, and I'm sure will be invaluable at university.
Immanuel also offered me so much flexibility and support which I am beyond grateful for, as I had to do lots of travelling during a year of transition. I always managed to catch up and work ahead - my favourite part of online school. I have so enjoyed my time at Immanuel.

A selection of what our parents have shared with us about life at Immanuel Online School.
Since moving our daughter to a Christian online school we've seen her: smile and laugh every day, study harder and learn more than all her previous school years, dream and make plans for her future, share and participate in all family time and activities, become self-motivated and schedule her day and weeks all by herself, rediscover her joy and creativity. We both work full-time jobs and pastor on the weekends… but we prayed and God answered. We found this virtual online Christian school that did Cambridge GCSE courses and was teacher-led.
Most importantly for us, IOS presents a low-key but meaningful, encouraging and quietly consistent Christian and Biblical worldview. For the first time in our son's education, he is hearing teachers naturally make links from their curriculum into Bible history, Christian ethics and the creator God — not forced, just totally unself-consciously. The Christian faith comes through as a normal part of his learning. Thank you for such a great school!
Transitioning from upper primary public school to IOS has been much smoother than we imagined. We are very pleased with how organised all the lessons are in the portal — easy to follow and very practical. We are also very happy with her teachers who are all very professional. We can see our daughter growing and enjoying her lessons. She loves her teachers. Thank you.
We really like Immanuel Online School and our son is motivated and thriving. There are many reasons why it is working well: totally honest and clear communications with parents, producing trust and a feeling of partnership. It runs very smoothly. Affirming — the positive atmosphere in every lesson brings out the best in students and motivates them. The pupils are excelling and stretching themselves.
We are absolutely delighted with how well he has settled in and how much he is enjoying his studies. He has also made some friends for life and there are lots of opportunities available. He has thrown his heart and soul into every piece of work and is sharing with us what he is doing. This is a big improvement on where he was before, and it is good to see his planning and organising developing. We are very grateful for your colleagues' efforts in helping him adjust to this new way of doing school.
Compared to Interhigh — it's like chalk and cheese. Honestly you cannot compare the two — what you are doing is amazing and Interhigh does not compare. Smaller class sizes and the teachers genuinely care!
The reporting and assessment for learning is excellent. We really appreciate the structure and the care that the tutors take to ensure students are doing their best.
The staff often make their lessons very exciting! Even if not a particularly exciting topic, they make it fun with an engaging interactive game. Many lessons are cutting-edge and up to date — this is very unusual for Year 7 lessons.
My son said: "I learnt the same amount in my first week at IOS that I learnt in 5 weeks at state school." Enough said…

Learning with IOS has been great — lessons are focused, fun and interactive. Online sessions help to cement my learning of the independent work I've completed. Working with students who are respectful and keen to learn has been a refreshing change, and I am being encouraged and stretched to reach my full potential.
I didn't know what to expect this year as this school is new to me, but I am happy to say that so far it has been an amazing experience. I have found it to be a very positive and encouraging environment in which to learn, and I am definitely learning skills I didn't have before.
I really love doing online school with Immanuel. I'm learning more than I ever have in school and I don't have any of the distractions from other people in a classroom.
I am really enjoying my time at Immanuel Online School — it is very flexible in terms of going on holiday, as live tutorial recordings can be sent through if you miss one.

Some of our students created 'A day in the life of…' videos. We have students on our live track from countries all around the world, with 70% of students based in the United Kingdom. Flipped learning ensures students complete their prep lesson and an associated test (with immediate feedback) before attending the tutorial — completing the LTT model: Lesson, Test, Tutorial.
